Artist Statement
Art has been and will continue to be a major part of my life. Subject matter and style vary but are held together by a love of colour, value and shape. I work from local subject matter as well as inspirations from my travels around the world. The exploration of new surroundings and new painting techniques are a constant source of inspiration in the development of expressive results.
I like to depict what I see as reality but combine abstract qualities and personal viewpoints to create a strong impact and emotional quality. I like my work to speak visually and hope that others feel the same qualities of colour, shape, line, texture and expression that I feel in the subjects I choose to depict.
